The Alphameter
Our flagship tool, the Alphameter, computes a single Risk-On / Risk-Off composite score from 6 cross-asset indicators. Instead of watching dozens of charts, you get one clear answer: is the market environment favorable for risk, or is it time to be defensive?
The 6 Indicators
- VIX Fear Gauge — Tracks market volatility and fear levels
- AUD/JPY — Currency carry trade barometer for global risk appetite
- Copper/Gold Ratio — Leading indicator of industrial growth vs. safety demand
- Bond Yields — Treasury yield trends showing flight to safety
- Sector Rotation — Cyclical vs. defensive sector performance
- Dollar Strength — USD index measuring global capital flows
Each indicator generates a signal: risk-on (+1), neutral (0), or risk-off (-1). These are combined with empirical weights into a composite score ranging from -100 to +100. The result is a clear regime classification updated daily after market close.
How to Use It
